Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, has strongly condemned a physical altercation between two male teachers at a school in Pepease, describing the incident as a“disgrace to the teaching profession.”
The scuffle, which allegedly arose from a dispute over a female colleague, has sparked public outrage and prompted calls for disciplinary action.
In a statement issued from his office, Hon. Anim expressed deep disappointment, calling the conduct “highly unacceptable and unprofessional.”
“I have taken note of the disturbing incident… where two male teachers were involved in a physical altercation over a female colleague,” he said.
“Such behavior is highly unacceptable, unprofessional, and a disgrace to the teaching profession.”
He urged the Ghana Education Service (GES) to investigate the matter and impose appropriate sanctions.
“Two teachers allowed a personal disagreement to degenerate into violence on school premises. This is deeply disappointing and reflects a gross lack of self-control,”* he added.
The MP emphasized that teachers are expected to uphold discipline and model exemplary behavior, especially within the learning environment.
