You warned me not to contest but I didn't listen - Akua Afriyie apologises to NPP after defeat

Defeated NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma North, Nana Akua Afriyie, has revealed that she has rendered an unqualified apology to the party’s leadership after defying a directive not to participate in the constituency's election re-run.

The apology, she said, was offered following discussions at the party’s emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the Alisa Hotel.

While she declined to confirm whether she regretted disobeying the party’s instructions, Nana Akua Afriyie made it clear that her actions were addressed directly with the leadership.
